The Chinese Mythbuster!!!!

I still remembered the day I first saw ‘The’ Bruce Lee ….in a big screen…when I was in standard II…..the mesmerizing charisma of this legend overwhelmed me so much that it left a life-long impression in m y mind…..like the millions of other Bruce Lee lovers!!! Just his screen presence was so intense…..he didn’t even punched a single punch yet & still started to occupy the space…..such was his personality!! It was “The way of the Dragon” …written, directed & fight choreographed by Bruce himself!! The last fight with the then world karate champ Chuck Norris….is still considered as one of the best martial art scenes ever shot!! Later I also became fan of various martial art actors like Van Damme, Steven Seagal, Mark Dacascos, Jet Lee and many more…..with the latest inclusion of the sensational Panom Yeerum (Tony Jaa)!! You watch them…enjoy them….& forget them…..only as some good martial artists….nothing more!! But when it comes to Bruce…..he is eternal!! He was more than a martial artist…..he was a philosopher….an ambassador….and an eye opener to the whole world!! He single handedly introduced the Chinese martial arts and philosophies to the western world and changed the way they look at the East!! He represented not only china….but the whole of Asia….and showed the world that talent & determination have no racial or regional boundary!! He dared to step into Hollywood with a dream of becoming the first Asian superstar….and to capture the west with something which was then considered as a taboo…something to make fun of….the Chinese martial arts!! It’s a shame that it’s the case still in India…where Akshay Kumar is used as a comedian more than a martial artist…!! It’s more shameful when we find that India was the birthplace of this art…..Kalaripayattu (Kerala) & Varma kalai (Tamil Nadu) are the oldest forms & were considered as the mother of all martial arts!! Chinese kung-fu is believed to be developed from kalari itself…….but still then….in India….it’s considered an intellectual act to make funny comments on martial art & rejecting it as an art form!! Lucky myself….I was allowed to think freely and was taught to keep my mind open…..that I got a chance to respect such extraordinary art forms & philosophies!!

Bruce’s whole life (a short one though) is an inspiration for millions of youth who dreamt of breaking boundaries & redefining popular beliefs!! “All fixed set patterns are incapable of adaptability or pliability. The truth is outside of all fixed patterns.”…this famous quote by Bruce defines a lot about him and his theories about life……it was a simple theory….’don’t bound yourself in theories’!! “Asians are funny characters….can be used only as comedians”….was the first theory he broke!! Then he kept on breaking several orthodox beliefs…both in West & East!!
He was against the fixed training methods (like katas, blocks, stances, rituals) of the old martial art schools!! He studied almost all the martial art techniques & weapons…..took the jist….and created a new philosophy….”Jeet Kune Do” ….which have no katas or useless trainings without logic!! It is a constantly developing martial art which in simple can be explained as “mixed martial art”….a mixture of some of the best forms like “kung-fu”, “boxing”, “Karate”, “muay-thai”, “jujutshu”, “aIkido” etc…taking the best from each & adding your own!! No wonder Bruce is considered as the “Father of mixed martial art”!! These days MMA tournaments like the UFC flourishes where Bruce’s principle is in practice!! According to Bruce…any technique, however worthy and desirable, becomes a disease when the mind is obsessed with it…so the highest technique is to have no technique!! The more complex the steps are the more difficult is to reach the goal…..so simplify every aspect of your life…to become less decorative & more efficient!!! Like in building a statue, a sculptor doesn't keep adding clay to his subject. Actually, he keeps chiseling away at the inessentials until the truth of its creation is revealed without obstructions. Thus, contrary to other styles, being wise in Jeet Kune-Do doesn't mean adding more; it means to minimize, in other words to hack away the unessential.
It is not daily increase but daily decrease; hack away the unessential.
It’s sad that Bruce never saw his dream coming true…..which was to become a Hollywood superstar instead of having Chinese origin!! He died just before the release of his most successful film which made him immortal in Hollywood & the whole world…it was “Enter The Dragon” ….the first Bruce Lee film (as the lead actor) which was co-produced by a Hollywood studio!! I remember when I saw the movie first time…I was probably in standard III….it was telecasted in the DD-2 channel at the midnight!! After some arguments with my parents…they finally allowed me to watch…& that was an absolute stunner for me!! Later when I grew up…..I have watched it several times….& will watch again in future!! Not because it’s a quality movie….it’s just a very average Hollywood movie….but because of Bruce lee’s presence alone….and the magnetic personality of this legend!!

Story of a real Man

Being brought up in West Bengal….one of the few states in India with a communist stronghold….there was always an easy availability of Russian books (translated in Bengali of course)…mostly with an inclination towards Marxism!! Although all books were not like that…..some were just Russian books…with no touch of Marx!! One of those was a noble named…. “A Story about a real man” by Boris Polevoy…..in Bengali “Manusher moto manush”……!! I used to hate nobles…… wondered how the hell people finish them?...but the title of this one somehow made me curious enough to give it a try….& that become one of my rare successful tries…when I was in standard V!! In fact I liked it so much…I read the full noble in one day …with only one break!! Later I read it again!! I was totally submerged in the protagonist Alexey (means: defender of mankind)….his never-say-die attitude which for the first time made me feel proud to be a human being…another rare thing in my life!!
The story starts in some remote German occupied Russian territory during WW II…..with a severely wounded Russian pilot……Alexei ….whose I-16 fighter jet was shot down by the German anti-aircrafts…!! His two feet were heavily injured & needed immediate medical attention…..he can barely crawl, writhing In Pain…..with no food or water….in the very backyard of the enemy…who will shoot him at sight!! The first thing he need to do was to get away from the plane & hide himself….as the enemy will reach for the crashed aircraft to find him!! Then he started his unimaginable journey to reach the friendly side of the border……almost crawling….with only a knife and a pistol to save himself from the Nazi army….killing wolfs….eating rats….and grabbing the most valuable asset he possessed….”hope”!! Not one day…not two days….he crawled through the heart of the Nazis…hiding himself in jungles…..for 18 days (can you believe??)…..almost starving to death….his body turned into a skeleton wrapped in human skin….!! His legs stopped bleeding….turned green & started smelling bad….it was so much pain that it was not feeling anymore….yet there was much spirit left in this champ to drag himself for days to reach the border……and he made it at last!!! When he was finally admitted to a hospital…..the doctors couldn’t believe that he survived for 18 days in that condition, without food & water (almost none in the later days)….it was just not possible in medical logic….Alexey broke all theories in their medical book!! …..but that’s what men are born to do…to make the impossible possible….and create their own laws!!

But this was just half of the story……..even greater challenges were waiting for this soldier….which he fought with even more courage!! The doctors found that his two legs were gangrened & to save his life…they were amputated below the knee!! The fearless young pilot was now sitting in a wheel chair instead of the cockpit ….and was never supposed to walk again!! But instead of believing what others predicted…..he believed in himself…..they said you can’t walk….he tried & tried & tried…and at last walked with artificial legs…..then he wanted to dance….they said it’s impossible….he practiced for months with enormous pain & failure…..but never quitted the fight & finally he did became a graceful dancer!! But as it seems…all was his plan to prepare himself for a bigger & outrageous dream…of returning to the cockpit from the wheelchair…….& fight for his country again!!! A dream only a fighter can dare to dream!!! It seems impossible for him to control many functions in the WWII fighter planes….specially those which were operated with the foot!! He made mental, physical & mechanical adjustments & shocking the whole bunch of doctors as well as the well-wishers he regained his post of a fighter pilot!!! And fought as bravely as before & shot down many German planes to prove his heroic return!!

Wikipedia: “During a dog fight in August 1943, he downed three German FW-190 fighters. In total, he completed 86 combat flights and shot down 11 German warplanes. He was awarded the Golden Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union (August 24, 1943), the highest military decoration of the USSR. In 1944, Maresyev joined the CPSU and two years later retired from the army.
In 1952, Maresyev graduated from the Higher Party School. In 1956, he obtained a Ph.D. in History, and started working in the Soviet War Veterans Committee. Eventually he became a member of Supreme Soviet. Maresyev was awarded the Order of Lenin, Order of the October Revolution, Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Order of the Red Star, and numerous medals.
He died of a heart attack May 19, 2001, just an hour ahead of his official 85th birthday celebration.”

Later in his life…..whenever he was praised for his achievements….he repeatedly insisted the praise was exaggerated. "There's nothing extraordinary in what I did," he said in a newspaper interview. "The fact that I've been turned into a legend irritates me.” In another interview he was asked if he believed in fate or not………his reply was…”I believe in climate”….once when he passed a medical examination & was leaving for the far east…he was approached by a lady doctor & she told him “Alyosha, you certainly cannot go. But remember…if you have one foot on the land, all your sickness will pass”….so he thought that….If I can recover, then the pilot shall….And so it was…since then he believed in climate!!!
….so don’t know about others…but for me…..he will always be one of the most influential heroes in my life….always taught me in tough situations….to ”fight hard” & never give up hope!!!

IS EVERYTHING PREDESTINED??

Suppose I am standing on the roof of a building. Then, at a particular time, from a particular position I drop a feather from there and it falls at a particular spot. Is there any chance of the feather to fall at any other spot than where it has fallen now?

Considering everything started from the Big Bang and believing that everything follows RULE (it’s the base of scientific thinking) we must accept that it can’t have fallen at any other position. Similarly each and everything that is happening in this universe is following rules….so there’s no chance of happening any accident or anything outside those RULES……so our future is also predestined. That is, we think that we are “Deciding”….but actually we are not….we are just following “Rules”…..although it’s impossible to calculate such immense & complex calculations to predict the future…..but if we follow science….at least we cant change the future. It’s inevitable what’s going to happen to us.

Now….do you believe that?? Doesn’t it hurt?? Thinking that you are just a slave of RULES….that you are not able to decide?? What you will become after 10 years is already fixed?? You are only acting like a free individual…. & being proud to be a Human being…whereas there’s no difference between you and a Pig or a tree or even a stone. Yes…it hurts…& I personally don’t believe that….because I don’t follow science blindly…..RULES are made by us to explain (or should I say trying to explain) our universe according to our need…..they are not the absolute truth….they help us in calculating certain things. That’s why they keep on changing as time passes. While discussing this topic with one of my friend….he was saying that rules are always true….1+1 will always be 2……but my question is who made those rules?? They came naturally or we made them according to our need? While saying 1+1=2….how can we define “1” here?? Considering that both the “1”s are same itself is an assumption….made by us for the sake of a calculation which will help us making a rough conclusion. You can’t say “It’s the absolute truth”. As there’s nothing called absolute truth….everything is relative. So I don’t rely completely on science in understanding my surrounding…..I am open for any supernatural or Para scientific believes & would like to keep my mind free of any bindings…as it’s wisely said….”A mind, like a parachute is only useful when its open”.

GOD

“When did I realize I was God? Well, I was praying and I suddenly realized I was talking to myself” - Peter O'Toole

Like everybody else, right from the start of my conscious life I was disturbed by numerous rubbish questions about silly things like Pain, Death, God, Birth, Dream and the Space!! I used to enjoy being amazed by the unknown & fascinated by the mysteries & myths surrounding my life. But as I grew up, gradually those mysteries started to loose their value….getting used to (in fact trained to) ignore questions which doesn’t have any direct relation to my social, academic or professional life. And now that I am a fully grown selfish human being…..I miss those days of wonders & amazement….no matter what I encounter nothing amazes me these days….even if I try hard….as if I am ignorant towards anything outside my immediate circle!! But still there are few questions which bother me (and those poor people whom I annoy with the same :P)….such as “Does God exist”? This is a universal question which everyone must have asked at least once in their lifetime!!

Sometimes I wonder why this question is so important to us?? Does the “religion” or “searching for some universal power to rely on, while in crisis” are the only reasons for this question?? Or there is really something called “The God”?? One thing I realized after all these years is that what we call GOD is somehow related to the “Ultimate source of all energy flowing in the universe”….the exact source of this energy is an everlasting mystery….yet its presence is a unanimous truth. Each & every particle in the universe is merged in that energy thus they all posses a portion of GOD.

Human beings are born to ask questions…..that’s why they are different from other organisms….they learned to ask “WHY”….which no other organism bother to (or might be they are too slow in there thinking process)….which in technical term we say “higher intelligence level”. We are always in a search for one ultimate question.... the very purpose of our life…the ultimate truth (MOKSHA)….and this is the only activity all of us are indulged in…all the so called activities we do are just a confused version of that search. This is the reason why that question is so important to us…..!!

Standing in a busy city square or mall, watching all those people running all time makes you think what are they all running for?? Why are they so busy?? Will they stop after reaching there destination or goal? According to Swami Vivekananda….No…they won’t stop until they die….because the goals they are setting are only temporary goals….thinking this will fulfill their needs….but once they achieve it they realize that it was not the final destination….they start searching for another temporary goal to satisfy there inbuilt “searching” nature….unaware of their ultimate goal!! This final goal is defined as Moksha (freedom) or Salvation in most of the religions.

One of the most scientific books I have ever read is the GITA….not because I am from a Hindu family….I personally don’t like many Hindu rituals and also believe that the so called need of RELIGION in a modern society have already lost its importance …in fact it’s a burden now!!! People are enough educated to think freely….they no more need religious books to tell what is right & what is wrong!! But still I loved reading GITA (not in Sanskrit though)….it changed my way of thinking….it answered most of my queries about right & wrong….about God… about coping with the complexities of life. No wonder it’s taught in many management institutions & foreign universities. For example, an American University has made study of Gita compulsory for all its students by including it in its “core course.” The Seton Hall University (http://www.shu.edu/) has taken this decision observing the importance of Gita in life….!!

One of the theories written in this book is the existence of MAYA…..build to keep us away from Moksha….This “Maya” controls us through our 5 sense organs…vision, hearing, smell, taste, and touch…..but somehow the Humans posses a sixth sense too…..which helps them break this shell of Maya buy refusing to respond to the other 5 senses. The confused ones like us responds to those 5 senses & sets temporary goals to satisfy their search in the outside world…..but the wise one respond to that sixth sense & look inside his own self….which possesses all the answers!! That’s where the concept of meditation (Dhyan) came from….shutting those 5 distracting senses & opening your sixth sense….that alone can provide you of all knowledge you need….no need to search it outside….humans are born with all the knowledge….just need to search for them. Scientifically speaking when we learn something new….does anything adds up in our brain?? No….just some internal arrangement changes…so we are just modifying what we already have inbuilt….that we can do without living in that shell of MAYA too.

Seems similar to the movie MATRIX?? Should be….the whole concept of Maya (the matrix) is taken from Gita….the first time when I saw Matrix I was mesmerized by the similarities….but when I told my friends about it…they laughed at me…..later they were shocked when they found those Gita Shloka-s recited at the end of MATRIX REVOLUTION….The whole matrix trilogy was an attempt to bridge the gap between religion (more correctly philosophy) & Science. Like in Matrix in Gita too we find the concept of “belief”….it says that we can change the world of maya as we like to….just need to have an equivalent strength in our belief ….we can fly if we believe we can, we can break through walls (resembles the Shaolin kung fu concept of “Chi”…the hidden energy)!!

Now those who are strong believer of science will laugh at such theories….but we must always remember that science is just a tiny portion of philosophy….which helps us to survive…. Science never asks questions….the only purpose of science is to observe our surrounding & note it down for future use….its not allowed to ask “Why”…. When Newton saw the apple falling he wondered why did it fall down? That was a philosophical question…but as soon as he converted it into a rule with some formula, it was converted into science. Those formulas are only observations….does they ask “Why”??

Another proof of that “ultimate source of energy” is life itself. I used to have a weird query when I was in school….I named this query as “Who am I”?? Every human being (in fact all animals & plats) is made up of tiny building blocks…say cells…which according to science itself is an unique living organism. So we are made of numerous living organisms working together in an unimaginable “order”. And we only die when that order break!! Then the question is “Who am I”….who is the decision maker?? Who is the commander of that army of cells?? The answer could not be BRAIN….its made up of individual cells (neurons) too…..so we are just an organization….not an individual….then why can’t we make “Frankenstein” in real life??…cloning or making test tube babies don’t make us god….we can never create life indigenously…..That’s because there is something called “soul”…which is a complex connection between us & God (I mean that source of energy)…which once broken cant be fixed…never…even though science will try to do that continuously…will never succeed!! Once I had a whole night debate on this topic with one of my colleague….where he stated the theories of evolution. Then I asked him about our “Moral Values”….if we are an organization of selfish cells…then from where came our moral values of right or wrong?? He suggested it might be the survival tactic (with a lots of future planning) which came from evolution….our social right & wrongs are actually long term selfish goals…..outside a social environment (say an isolated island) those values have no importance!! I agreed to that somewhat…but still confused.

Finally I must say this is still one of my favorite questions to irritate people with. I know there can never be a satisfactory answer to such questions….but our purpose is to ask question & trying hard to find the answer….that’s what we are destined for….!!

Slumdog Oscars

I have a good memory attached with this film......not for the film alone....but there were two more reasons....firstly it was my first date with my "would-be" :P ..........& secondly after a long time I was back to my Favorite theater of my college days...The old & nostalgic "New Empire" ....at the heart of Kolkata!! Although I was shocked by the condition of the theater...no maintenance at all...almost at its last stage standing like an outdated performer in front of those few remaining loyal fans.....making way for the "multiplex culture"!!

Apart from these two factors the film was good too as expected.......a film made from heart....and also with some good research work (not enough though) from a British director to make such a film on India. The music was great too!!

.....But I was speechless when I found it won 8 Oscars......I had a thin idea about how these awards work....still....8 Oscars for "Slumdog millionaire"? It’s too much!! Once again my old idea about ACADEMY AWARDS was cemented.......its miles away from being a judging standard for foreign culture films. How can the juries judge a film from a totally different culture from there own?? They heavily depends on the marketing of that film & the way they portray it in front of them......the content of the film comes much later in the queue!! I wonder how SLUMDOG was better than TAARE ZAMEEN PAR?? Maybe because the TZP subject was not based on “hungry Indians” or “Slums”. Watching the former I felt it was a superb story & could have been presented far better by some of the recent Indian directors than Danny himself. Not because they are better or worse than him.......but just because they are far more aware & attached to the subject.......doing some research on India is not enough to understand her essence…I really felt the essence was missing in the film.......it really looked like the India as watched by the eye of a western tourist!!

Sometimes I wonder how they judge the emotions represented in a different language?? I remember watching "Panther Panchali" with subtitles in English......felt like 50% of the taste or meaning is missing (or misinterpreted) when translated in English.....still they find it to be one of Ray's best work......indeed it is.....but what about his other works....how many of his other films are known to the outside world?? The reality is that they only accept to watch India as they love to watch.......the poor, dirty, “land of the snake charmers” kind of movies will sale like hot cakes….anything else & its not “Real India”!!

And the most unfortunate thing is that we Indians are still very much dependant on western recognition……unless & until someone is recognized by some European or American organization, they are not valued in his/her own country too!! Satyajit Ray was a “good” director in India before he got an Oscar……but after that he became an “Excellent” director ……the critics were the same…..just the First world recognition & an Oscar in his hand changed the “quality” of his movies overnight…..!!

Also you will find these Oscar films as some Brands…..attaching your name with it might bring an Oscar to you too……..performance or content doesn’t matter……only marketing & belonging to the right group matters. Films getting around 10 Oscars……will show you what I mean!! Rahman got 2 Oscars for Slumdog…….although he had given his best long ago……and this was only an average album for his caliber…….he got recognized only for riding the right train!! Thousands of classic performances in numerous low budgeted or low publicized films go unrecognized every time because they missed the train!! That’s why I don’t believe in such awards as the ultimate recognition of an artwork……..it only helps me to pick up some good movies & performances…….not in deciding the best!!

Indian Animation & Gaming Industry

......do u want to join the Indian animation & gaming industry as an artist?? You should....there's a BOOM in this sector......guys who failed in every aspect of their life gets a chance here.........a chance to earn some easy bucks!!

I encountered few people who are normal & wants to join this industry......people who are mental patients, Physically incapable, socially dumped, intellectually shattered, kicked out of the academic rat race only ends up joining this industry in India. I agree....an artists life generally falls in that category but that doesn't means that the reverse is also true...... every one in that situation is not an artist. I remember the "monster India" add....u will find wrong people for wrong jobs in every sector in India, not only in animation or gaming.....what else can u expect in a country with almost 10 million unemployed citizens? They grab to an opportunity like a drowning man grabbing a hay stick.....sacrificing his own field of interest & jumping to a field which he (or his parents) thinks will give him security....(although....."security"....sounds like a joke these days)!!

.....This is a perfect situation for a relatively new & unfamiliar industry to emerge.........u will find lots of useless but cunning craps climbing up the ladder & holding up decisive positions....before even the useful ones get a hint of the prospects of that industry. Amazing is the number of talented artists in India.....who don't even know what animation or gaming is.........& even more amazing is the number u will find who portrays themselves as artists or gamers......who are miles away from "art" and hates playing games in real world......in fact they prefer studying share market, new means of making money or oiling their seniors more than sketching some doodles. Yet they wants us to match the outside world in efficiency & perfection......when in reality they give more value to "social skills" than "production skills".

The reason why art is neglected in India is the availability of cheap & talented artists in a plenty (demand & supply theory)......u will find art in every aspect of the Indian lifestyle.......its so common in our lives that we started neglecting its value. When a boy/girl wants to be an artist......be it fine arts, music, acting, martial art, dance....any form of art.......his parents generally oppose his decision.....in fact prefers him to be an engineer / doctor / MBA......which gives him a social status and security.......now u will think why should artists not get social status? That's because there's a myth in India......that artists are less intelligent than an engineer or doctor...that's why he become an artist after trying out all options... :D.......whereas the reality is that intelligence is not bound in logical calculations or your memory handling capability.....its broader than that.......IQ testing for a human brain will prove that......!! There's a big difference between the nature of intelligence of the "right brain" vs the "left brain" people.........none is inferior to the other....just their way of thinking is different. Its pity to find that "intelligence" is getting bounded in silly rules & outlooks.....just as "beauty" in a beauty contest!!

....the Indian talent pool in graphics is not something to be ignored......if recognized & nurtured properly they will soon be one of the leaders in the international market. But alas.....the people chosen to recognize them are the one I mentioned earlier.......those politically correct , socially smart yet artistically bullshit people will judge these fresh talents.......will tell you who is a better artist.....whom to appoint....whom to appraise....whom to sack.......!! They will deliberately suppress those who are more talented than them......who are more capable than them!! Else they will get exposed!!! These craps are crawling all over the industry hiding there way out of exposure and faking hard works.....u will find them acting all time as if very busy & talking all time as if they know everything.......because they know the trick to survive in our industry....."Showing that ur working is much more valuable than actually working".....everybody fooling their senior in a hierarchical way thus making a bogus production pipeline which will never match a foreign studio.......whom we try to copy always!!

....The HR is not yet trained to handle artists......guess its not included in their course!! They treat a sales person, an engineer & an artist in the same manner & apply those same old rotten theories they are taught in MBA books to everybody they face, without discrimination. In a production house while tackling artists they still give behavioral skills, soft skills & social skills more value than actual production skills. I agree they are very important skills....and everybody should learn it......but I never understand how the hell those become PRIMARY SKILLS in a production house?? Those are always secondary & SUPPORTIVE skills when it comes to a small production unit like a game studio or an animation studio...those are more important in a marketing unit......not in a production studio....... Fancy talking, fluency in English, expressive gestures & confident voice will not change the truth in a production pipeline............its not marketing where "repeating a lie 100 times makes it a truth"......the truth here is the product u produce...the quality of that product & the time in which u deliver it...is the primary concern here......not the way how u talk or act or dress will matter!! Deadlines wont wait to see how smartly or how much u talked in a meeting room......it will depend on what u talked there....here the "matter" of the speech is important, not the "way" how its delivered......!! But alas.....who cares......"unbiased" thinking (synonymous to "modern" thinking) is yet a milestone to be achieved by the Indian studios.

....While comparing the foreign artists we find that they are treated based on their production skills alone.......fully crazy.....extremely introvert......completely unsocial.....tremendously indiscipline artists also gets value for their talent....because these are something which will more or less always be a part of an artist.......& that doesn't makes him unproductive or less intelligent. On the other hand those are not any confirmation mark of an artist either.......being crazy or dressing weirdly don't prove that you are a productive artist......those should not divert ones attention while judging artistic capability........The one and only factor of judgment should be his WORK....nothing else!! You don't have to be fluent in English to be a productive unit ( you only need that while selling that product internationally....which unfortunately we can't in most of the Indian studios :P) .......watch Japan & China.....the use of mother tongue is one of the most vital reason for there in depth understanding of any subject & converting that into a successful product!!

...and like our early Indian cricket teams.......in Indian studios too....once u achieve something.....u can harvest that for a long period.....without any further performance!! Whereas in foreign studios u will have to start afresh with every new project.......what u achieved earlier is history.....u have to prove again & again & again.....once failed & you will have to pay for that.........this is what professionalism means.........and that's why many studios outside India consider Indians having unprofessional attitude towards there work....because they are emotional in office too!!

.....Most big budget animated films (not all) in India are horrible......and are made by freshers.....can u imagine??.......the quality of such films will make u cry.......even more when you know that it's far far away from what Indian artists are capable of........they will make the trailer with full dedication & effort.....but later the final production will be a chaos!! Even films budgeted around Rs. 400 million asking for freshers to work & the experienced artists are not considered......just imagine!! Those idiots don't even have the basic sense that hiring one experienced artist is better than hiring 10 freshers......both in quality & cost.......shame on those cheap businessmen......who tries to apply factory production techniques in "Films" & yet advertise themselves as the mentors of Indian animation industry.........sucking those poor freshers blood and acting as if they are so generous towards them to give a job (even sells this as there "philosophy").....will make u sign bonds which can't be defined better than "exploitation"......something like 4 years bond for the freshers are also common here......that too by mortgaging their academic certificates!!! Why do you need a 4 year bond if you are confident about your "generous" philosophy?? They increase their employee count before applying for a big project to show a huge MANPOWER, hiring freshers like soldiers in WWII & after grabbing the project they sack most of them....what cheap mentality.....I hate those suckers who ware a mask of socially responsible citizens but actually weak in nature & knows nothing else than exploitation!! Better are those who don't use mask to hide there real intentions......however bad that might be!!

As if not enough....you will also find REGIONALISM in almost every studio in India.......shameless promotion of your own region is common....irrespective of what real talent you have!!

....the most pathetic condition about this article is that everybody knows it......yet everybody is too busy "buttering" their way up......& the Animation & games production pipeline in India remains the same....the management is aware of these problems too (actually they followed the same steps) yet expecting the studios to be productive......what a joke!!

So ready to join this Circus?? Let me give u some tips.....on "How to survive & prosper in this industry" (although I personally don't follow them)!!

1. Be fluent in English (better if in American accent).

2. learn HR skills first (technical or artistic skills are not much of importance here).

3. try to look weird.

4. Jumping from one company to another represents a strong resume in reality (although in theory they will deny it).

5. Always laugh loud at your senior's pajama jokes!!

6. Show that you r busy.......even if you are just surfing youtube or facebook!!

7. Show that you are expressive.......even if you have nothing to express....specially during meetings!!

8. Spending more time on researching & improving your technical skill will register you as a FOOL....in fact spending time improving your relation with all the employees (specially the BOSS & the seniors) will feast you more in future!!

9. Follow that old & tested rule here too......."BOSS IS ALWAYS RIGHT"!!

&& last & the most important one

10. Keep updating your resume in the Job sites & keep updating your showreel.....as after following all those above rules too.....there's nothing called security in this Industry!!
